Local Warby Parker fans, your day just got a little brighter. Milk Bar has announced that the company’s vintage inspired eyewear will be available in-store starting Nov. 10.
For the unitiated, Warby Parker offers prescription glasses for just $95, primarily through its website. Perhaps the only thing better than the price is that for each pair sold, Warby Parker donates a pair to someone in need.
“We’re always interested in finding brands that stand for something,” said Eric Hayes, co-owner of Milk Bar. “Whether it’s a fashion concept, or a cause, or both. Warby Parker does both with conviction.”
The company’s eyewear, which also includes sunglasses, is a good fit for Milk Bar, as it’s all very classic with little design details that make all the difference, Hayes said.
Plus, “Warby Parker uses high-quality acetates and hinges that you can’t even find in a lot of the big fashion lines,” he said.
Essentially, Milk Bar will serve as a showroom where customers can touch and try on frames. Should they find a style they like, customers can make an order on the spot.
To celebrate the new shop-in-shop, Milk Bar is hosting a launch party Nov. 10 from 7 to 10 p.m at Milk Bar, at 765-A N. High St. in the Short North.
The event is open to the public and attendees will be able to make Warby Parker orders during the party. To RSVP, send an email to [email protected] or reply to a Facebook event invite that is expected to be out by the end of this week.
