    10 Places to Order Turkeys for Thanksgiving

    Thanksgiving arrives a little late this year, but that doesn’t mean that you’re allow to procrastinate on your holiday dinner planning. Thankfully, Columbus has a wide variety of local grocery stores that help out with turkey pre-orders to help make your meal preparation a bit easier this year.

    Below you’ll find 10 local business that do turkey preorders right:

    The Hills Market is running a special promotion for turkey buyers this week. Pre-order your bird by Friday, November 15th, and get registered to win a $100 gift card. Options include turkeys from several Ohio farms. For more info, visit www.thehillsmarket.com.

    Huffman’s Market in Upper Arlington is selling Bowman & Landes Free Range Turkeys for Thanksgiving. These are free range veggie-fed turkeys raised without antibiotics in New Carlile, Ohio. For details, visit www.huffmansmarket.com.

    In addition to whole birds, Weiland’s Market is once again offering their prepared Thanksgiving Dinners to go, featuring Ohio-raised Bowman & Landes turkey, pies from Honeykiss Bakery and plenty of sides to eat in between. For details, visit www.facebook.com/Weilands-Market.

    The Anderson’s is also running a holiday dinner deal where you can get enough turkey and eight pounds of side dishes to feed a table of six to eight people (depending on how much leftovers you want to keep). Orders need to be placed by November 25th. For info, visit www.andersonsstore.com.

    Ray Ray’s Hog Pit is best known for pig, but this food truck staple switches gears to turkey for Thanksgiving. Pre-orders are due by November 24th for their dry rubbed and smoked birds ranging from 10 to 14 pounds. Full details can be found at www.facebook.com/Ray-Rays-Hog-Pit/.

    North Market Poultry & Game is a great option for Downtown shoppers, as they feature whole birds from Bowman & Landes ranging from 12 to 27 pounds. Additionally, the shop offers geese, duck, capon, rabbit venison and bison for the holidays, to customize your own thing-inside-a-thing-inside-another-thing creation.     The brand new Lucky’s Market in Clintonville has several different options for pre-ordered turkeys ranging from organic and all-natural birds to locally raised to Amish grown. Orders can be placed all the way up until the 27th. More info can be found at www.luckysmarket.com/Columbus.

    Rife’s Market on Fifth Avenue offers pre-ordered turkeys from Lewis Turkey Farm in Jackson County in southern Ohio. Birds range in size from 10 to 26 pounds, and Rife’s typically sells out the weekend prior to Thanksgiving, so place your order this week. More info at www.rifesmarket.com.

    Carfagna’s (which just celebrated their 77th year in business two weeks ago) is taking pre-orders for birds from Lewis Turkey Farm. These are all natural free-range turkeys raised with no growth stimulants. For details, visit www.facebook.com/Carfagnas.
