    2019 Guide to Farmers Markets in Central Ohio

    Farmers Markets in Columbus and the Central Ohio area are underway. If you are looking to find fresh produce, here’s the list of farmers markets for you to support our local farmers. German Village once again has a farmers market, happening at St Mary’s Church. Lynd Fruit Farm’s Market celebrates 100 years, and Local Matters’ Veggie Van is setting up in a few neighborhoods.

    Don’t miss The Peach Truck, rolling into the Columbus area on June 28-29 and July 19-20.

    400 Market. Last Sunday of every month, 12pm-4pm.  This market may not have lots of fresh produce, but does promise to have: “a vast array of artisans, crafters, and merchants.”

    Athens Farmers’ Market. A bit of a drive, but this one is great. “Our farmers and producers provide the absolute best food for area shoppers all year round! What began as a handful of farmers selling their produce is now a community event showcasing farmers, orchardists, specialty food producers, bakers, horticulturalists, cheese makers and many other food-based entrepreneurs.” The market is open Saturdays Year-round from 9am-12pm; on Wednesdays from 9am-1pm, running April through December.     Battelle Plaza Farmers Market, Thursdays through October 31, 2019, 11am to 1:30pm. Come by to shop from a variety locally-sourced items, including seasonal produce, honey, baked goods, flowers and more! 

    Bexley Farmers’ Market, Intersection of Dawson and Main Streets, Thursdays from 4-7pm, May 23 – October 24. Locally grown produce, meats and cheeses, children’s events, food demonstrations. Like them on Facebook.

    Bexley Natural Market, 508 N. Cassady Ave. in their parking lot. Farmers’ Market, Wednesdays 4pm-7pm, starting mid-May and going through November. Like them or contact to be a vendor on Facebook.

    Bronzeville Growers Market, Located at MPACC Box Park, Thursdays, June 27 through August 29, 2019, 3PM TO 6PM. . Building a sustainable local food system in a food desert. 925 Mt. Vernon Ave., Columbus, OH 43203. Come for a Health and Wellness Box Party on Sunday, September 29 from 12pm to 6pm.

    Canal Market District, Located at 36 E. Canal St., Newark, Ohio 43055. Friday Farmers Market returns on Friday, May 4. Hours 4pm-7pm, through October. Tuesday Farmers Market opens in June and run through September. Arts & Crafts Market hours vary around 10am-3pm on the select Saturdays of the Month: July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12. Shop from 60 of Central Ohio’s BEST local food producers and vendors. First farmers market in Licking County to accept EBT, WIC Farm Market Nutrition Program, and Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program coupons.     Canal Winchester Farmers Market, Downtown at 36 S. High St., Saturdays from 9am-12pm, May 25 through September 28 (rain or shine). One of central Ohio’s longest running outdoor markets, the Canal Winchester Farmers’ Market runs Saturday mornings (rain or shine). Hours are from 9am-12pm. The market will be closed on July 27 to accomodate the Canal Winchester Blues & Ribfest, and August 31 for the Canal Winchester Labor Day Festival.

    Clintonville Farmers’ Market. 2019 marks the 17th season of the Clintonville Farmers’ Market! Outdoor Saturday markets along North High Street, between Orchard Lane and W. Dunedin Road. Join us from 9am-Noon for seasonal, locally-produced, freshly-harvested Ohio food and lots of fun. The market runs 31 weeks this year, every Saturday through November 23. Ride your bike to market and park bikes, wagons, and strollers at the Baer Wheels Bike Corral. Sign up for the Kids Garden Club. The Kids Garden Club will sell their produce at the farmers’ market on July 13 and August 10. The market also provides access to The Compost Exchange. Like them on Facebook.

    Clintonville Natural Foods, 4398 Indianola Ave., Columbus, OH 43214. Local natural foods store located in Clintonville that sells vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO food products. Extensive bulk spice and herb selection.

    Columbus Public Health Market, The Markets will be 10am to 1pm on: Thursday, July 25; Thursday, August 1; and Thursday, August 8 on the CPH front lawn 240 Parsons Ave.

    Delaware Farmers’ Market: The Main Street Farmer’s Market (Historic downtown Delaware), 2019 season will begin on Saturday, May 25 and run through Saturday, October 26, weather permitting. The popular markets will run from 9:00am to 12:00pm on Saturdays and from 3pm to 6pm on Wednesdays. Wednesday markets will begin after May 31. The sidewalk markets are conducted on the shady side of Sandusky Street in the heart of Historic Downtown Delaware. Income-eligible senior citizens can get vouchers for farmers’ market foods from the Delaware County Council for Older Adults.

    The Dublin Market, The Dublin Market will be held from 9am-12pm at Bridge Park in Dublin, every Saturday from May 18 through September 28. Rain or shine. It will include delicious baked goods, fresh produce, flowers, live entertainment, numerous nearby establishments, and the convenience of free parking.

    Franklin Park Conservatory Farmers’ Market, Wednesday, June 5, 2019. The market operates Wednesdays from 3:30–6:30pm through September 4, 2019. The Conservatory’s Farmers’ Market is located outdoors in the main Conservatory parking lot, just off of East Broad Street and two miles east of downtown Columbus. The Farmers’ Market offers a mix of local produce, baked goods, specialty foods, and health and beauty products.

    Franklinton Farm Stand, by Franklinton Farms. The Franklinton Farm Stand at its new location in our Learning Garden, across from Avondale Elementary, will open in mid May on Thursdays 3:00-6:30pm.

    German Village Farmers Market at the Saint Mary School, Located on the front lawn. Every Saturday, May 25, 2019 through October 5, 2019 from 9am to noon. 700 S. Third St., Columbus, OH 43206.

    German Village Makers Market, Join us at the corner of City Park and Thurman for an Artisan Outdoor Market. Artists, designers, growers. A wide variety of products available. 11am to 4pm on Sundays: April 28, June 23, August 25, October 13, December 8 (Village Lights edition). Like them on Facebook.

    Granville Farmers’ Market, Saturdays, May 4 to October 26; 8:30am to noon; North Main Street and Broadway, although please check the calendar for dates where the location will move to St. Edward’s Catholic Church. Celebrating 25 years. Has been called the “best in Central Ohio.” Located 30 miles east of Columbus. More than 60 vendors this year. Like them on Facebook.

    Hilliard Farmers Market, May 28 through September 10, located at Hilliard United Methodist Church at 5445 Scioto Darby Rd., Hilliard, OH, Every Tuesday 4-7pm, June 5th – September 11th. Like them on Facebook.

    Lancaster Farmer’s Market, Lancaster, Every Saturday 8am-12pm, May 4 – October 5 held at West Chestnut Street between Broad and Columbus in Lancaster, OH. The market takes place rain or shine. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but should be on a leash. Some vendors accept credit and debit cards, SNAP/EBT, Ohio Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program and WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons.     Linden Farmers Market, Sunday, July 7, 2019, and will be open every Sunday through Sept. 1. Gye Nyame Place, 2830 Cleveland Ave., Columbus, at the intersection of Cleveland Ave. and E. Lakeview.   

    Lynd Fruit Farm – Celebrating 100 years! 9091 Morse Rd. SW, Pataskala, OH 43062

    Mae’s Market – Not a traditional Farmers’ Market, but a great produce stand on the South Side of Columbus. Located at 440 Marion Road, Columbus, Ohio 43207. Open 8am-6pm every day but Sunday which is 9am-4pm.

    Eat the rainbow with fresh, local produce for a healthier, economically sustainable lifestyle.

    Mount Vernon Farmers’ Market, Public Square, intersection of Main Street and High Street, First Saturdays from 9am to noon. Rain or shine. May 4 is opening day. Goes through September. Produce, flowers, honey, baked goods, pet snacks, seasonal cooking demos with professional chefs, and more. Find unique, handmade items at the Makers Market across the street in front of City Hall.

    Nationwide Children’s Hospital Farmers Markets,  Livingston Park, 760 E. Livingston Ave., between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for Farmers’ Markets this summer: July 16: Parties, Picnics, Potlucks…Oh My!, uly 30: Fire up the Grill, August 13: Delicious Dips, August 27: Kids in the Kitchen, September 10 : Fall Flavors , September 24: Spectacular Squashes

    New Albany Farmers’ Market, 200 Market Square, Market Street Square, Join us THURSDAYS at Market Square from June 20th until September 12th. 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. You will be able to enjoy seasonal offerings, beautifully hand crafted artisan products, an inviting array of produce, fresh baked goods, and more.     North Market Farmers’ Market, 59 Spruce St. Every Saturday & Sunday throughout the growing season, June through October, Ohio farmers bring their fresh-picked produce to North Market, where customers are able to purchase directly from the local farms selling the highest-quality products from their fields. Additionally, with the expansion of the Farmers’ Market to Sundays, we aim to combine local farms and local entrepreneurs selling hand-made & vintage items, fine arts & jewelry for a bigger, more eclectic and experiential Farmers’ Market. Mini-Super also carries produce during North Market hours.

    Pearl Market Downtown Columbus, Pearl Market is held Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:30 am to 2:00 pm from May 24 through October 11 along Gay Street and Pearl Alley.     Pickerington Farmers Market, in Olde Pickerington Village, 89 N. Center St. at Town Square Drive, Held year round: Outdoors June-September, Weekly, Thursday 4-7pm, 89 N Center St and Indoors October-May, Monthly, 2nd Thursday, 4-8pm. 80 W Church St. Each week, vendors offered produce, meats and dairy products as well as baked goods, crafts, and more. Like them on Facebook.

    Plain City Farmers Market, Located at the corner of South Chillicothe and S.R. 161 the “finest little Farmers Market around” is every Thursday from 4:30pm to 7:00pm. starting July 4 through October 3. Fresh fruits and veggies, baked and canned goods, order for poultry and eggs, cut flowers. Like them on Facebook.

    Powell Farmers Market, Spring/Summer Market for 2019 runs from May 18 through September 28 every Saturday from 9am-12pm. The market is located at 240 N. Liberty St., Powell, OH. (Corner of Liberty and Grace Drive). Fresh produce, meats, baked goods, teas, and more.

    Prairie Township Farmers Market, Mondays, June 10-September 9 from 4pm to 7pm. Location is 5955 West Broad Street (Prairie Township Community Center Parking Lot). Fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and bratwurst, mustards and jams, chocolates and baked goods and more! Special events include food trucks, entertainment and cooking demonstrations. Accepts SNAP and offers the Produce Perks Incentive program.

    Reynoldsburg Farmers’ Market, 1520 Davidson Drive in Huber Park, Every Thursday from 3:30pm – 6:30pm, June 6 through September 5. Established in 2008, market visitors will find tomatoes, sweet corn, melons, eggplant, asparagus, beans, cabbage, onions, honey, flowers, herbs, and baked goods. Like them on Facebook.

    Smith Farm Market, by The Witten Farm Market and Greenhouse. A year round bakery. Produce Market will be open through October 31. Located at 3341 Winchester Pike, Columbus, Ohio 43232. Open hours are bakery open 8am to 7pm. Offers firewood, straw, and cider during the winter.

    Sunbury Farmers’ Market, Sunbury Square, Every Saturday from 9am-noon, May 18 through October 12. Local produce, products, and homegoods. Like them on Facebook.

    Union County Farmers Markets, in Marysville on Saturdays from May 18 – October 5, 8:30am to 11:30am at Partners Park, Corner of Sixth and Main. And on Thursdays in Richwood from May 23 through October 3 from 3:30pm-6:30pm. Features vendors with locally grown, raised, baked, and made goods that are as true to Ohio as possible.     Upper Arlington Farmers Market, Wednesdays, June 5 through September 25, in a new location: the northwest corner of the Tremont Pool parking lot (2850 Tremont Road, Upper Arlington, 43221), The market will continue to operate on Wednesday evenings, but with a new time, 4-7 PM. The market is open rain or shine.

    Uptown Westerville Farmers’ Market, May 1 through October 30, Wednesdays, from 3pm – 6pm, at the corner of North State and East Home Streets. The Uptown Westerville Farmers’ Market is a rain or shine market. In-lot and on-street free parking is available near the market and throughout Uptown Westerville.     Veggie Van, a program of Local Matters, the Veggie Van is traveling around to food deserts to bring fresh local produce to these neighborhoods. 2019 schedule: Tuesdays from 10am-1pm at Trio Pharmacy at 1570 Cleveland Ave, Columbus, OH 43211. Wednesdays from 3pm to 6pm at Dodge Park and Recreation Center at 667 Sullivant Ave, Columbus, OH 43215. Thursdays from 3pm to 6pm with shelf stable items only at Franklinton Farms at 867 W Town St, Columbus, OH 43222. Fridays from 3pm to 6pm at Equitas Health in the King-Lincoln District at 750 E Long St., Columbus, OH 43203.

    Westerville Saturday Farmers’ Market, May 18 through October 12, Saturdays, from 9am – 12pm on Grove Street on the Otterbein campus. Westerville Saturday Farmers Market will bring Central Ohio grown food and farm products to the Westerville community. Like them on Facebook.

    Westgate Farmers Market Open the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from June through October this season from 9am-1pm. Opening date is June 1, 2019 and end of season is October 19, 2019. Located at the West Gate Masonic Lodge, 2925 W. Broad St., Columbus Ohio 43024.     Worthington Farmers Market, outdoor season – The summer market runs every Saturday from May 4 thru October 26, in the streets of Olde Worthington, 646 N. High St., from 8am – 12pm, closed September 28. Established in 1987, it’s one of the largest and most respected markets in Ohio. Over 70 vendors participate in the market which is held in downtown Worthington during Summer. Shop for fresh, Ohio grown seasonal fruits and vegetables interspersed with flowers, plants and homemade foodstuffs that vendors display.     Worthington Farmers Market, indoor season – Saturdays from November thru April, closed the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Every Saturday, 9am – 12pm at The Shops at Worthington Place. 7227 N. High St., November 2, 2019 to April 25, 2020. You will find locally grown seasonal fruits and vegetables, locally produced cheeses, jams, jellies, honey and maple syrup, high quality cuts of meat from carefully raised farm animals, eggs from pastured chickens, flowers, herbs, plants, homemade soaps, and foodstuffs. Like them on Facebook.
