After supporting Central Ohio through Philanthropitch for the last four years, Austin, TX based Notley has officially expanded to Columbus – it’s first location outside of its home state.
With a mission to “unleash relentless changemakers all over the world,” Notley coordinates a number of programs and leadership initiatives that help businesses and organizations amplify their impact, including social fast pitch competition Philanthroptich.
An area native that has been involved in the social enterprise community through her previous role as the manager of business development coordination at Wright-Patt Credit Union, Bailey Hanley will serve as Notley’s Columbus market director.
“I am excited to see the growth of impact here in Columbus with the programming Notley provides,” Hanley says. “There is a strong impact community here and I am continuously surprised at how even just a little bit of support or a single connection can make a world of difference for an organization.”
With its expansion to Columbus, Notley will first focus on building out its Changemaker Program locally.
“This program is created to support Changemakers in the community making outsized impact,” Hanley explains. “These changemakers are executive directors or CEOs at nonprofits or founders of social enterprises. That support that Notley is bringing comes in the form of capital, resources and connections. Additionally, I am working to cultivate a local bench of support to come alongside Notley and myself to support these changemakers with their own connections and mentorship, too.”
Once that programming is up and running, Notley will explore other initiatives to bring to Central Ohio.
“Columbus has a great ecosystem to support those who feel passionate about starting a purpose driven initiative, so many thought leaders in this space,” Hanley says. “I am excited for the way we can all support each other and continue to grow something impactful in Columbus.”
Notley first introduced itself to Central Ohio in 2019 through Philantorpitch. In four years, the pitch competition has helped raise over $482,000 of unrestricted capital for 25 area non-profits supporting a variety of causes, from the arts and educational programs, to volunteer initiatives and social enterprises providing second-chance employment and more.
Returning in-person in 2022, this year’s event raised a record-breaking $162,571 for five area non-profits.
Organizations receiving funding included:
- Columbus Fashion Alliance – $57,665
- Elevate Northland – $37,629
- Wild Goose Creative – $27,649
- Besa – $20,895
- Ohio Association of Student Leaders – $18,533
As sponsor of the event, The Metropreneur supported Wild Goose Creative with a $500 grant.
Philanthropitch plans to return in 2023 for its fifth annual event.
