Best Bar of 2011: St. James Tavern

For the second year in a row, the fans have spoken… the St. James Tavern is the #1 bar in Columbus. This Italian Village staple celebrated its 15th anniversary back in September and while the neighborhood has changed a lot during those years, the bar remains true to its no-nonsense roots. SJT serves no food (aside from the occasional visiting food truck outside) and doesn’t give in to trendy cocktail menus or marketing gimmicks. The simplicity works well in providing a friendly “neighborhood joint” atmosphere that is welcoming to anyone looking for a place to hang out with friends, grab a beer, and enjoy a solid jukebox or a round of pool.
