Best Specialty Store of 2011: Wholly Craft

In the past we’ve asked you about your favorite places to shop, and this year we’ve divided it out to include separate categories such as fashion, food, home decor and specialty shopping. Our idea of a “specialty” store is one that doesn’t have a one-size-fits-all label, or a pre-defined category that it would normally fit in with. It’s the place you go when you need a special gift, or where you’d want to take a guest from out of town when you’re showing off what Columbus has to offer.

At the top of this year’s list is Wholly Craft, a Clintonville boutique where you can find unique handmade goods from over 100 local artisans and crafters. Their wide range of items runs the gauntlet from clothing to toys to paper goods to kitchen items and more. Wholly Craft is also known for their events and instructional classes, offering a venue that has helped to grow and support the community beyond your typical retail space.
