Big Woody’s is Set to Open in Columbus

Big Woody’s will open in Columbus this spring, bringing area residents a casual, but exuberant, atmosphere to unwind for dinner, drinks, catching the big game or partying with friends late night.

Big Woody’s will offer a full menu for dinner featuring classic bar and pub staples such as Big Woody wings and pizza, plus an assortment of appetizers and grilled panini sandwiches. The bar will serve up nightly happy hour specials and dozens of televisions will show all the big games. Big Woody’s will also host live music, DJs and will be home to the soon-famous Big Woody’s Bull.

Inspired by Columbus’ rich history and tradition, Big Woody’s is the brainchild of its ownership group, comprised of three restaurant and bar industry veterans – Chad Shumate, Trey Morton and Christopher Ortleib. The trio has nearly 30 years of restaurant management, sales and marketing experience between them and they will put that knowledge and expertise at work with Big Woody’s.

“The three of us have pretty much done it all in the restaurant and bar business,” said Shumate. “We were ready to branch out and do something new. With Big Woody’s, we wanted to create a place that was entertaining and enjoyable for our guests.”

Open Wednesday through Sunday from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m., Big Woody’s is located at 165 Vine Street in Columbus, just blocks from Nationwide Arena and Huntington Park.
