Zaytoon Mediterranean Grill will bring a taste of the Middle East to Budd Dairy Food Hall later this month.
The restaurant will open its second location as the second vendor in Budd Dairy’s rotating, pop-up kitchen space, Hatch. The first tenant, The Cheesecake Girl, recently vacated the space to open its first standalone shop in Dublin, in addition to its stall inside Center Street Market in Hilliard.
Time spent working at his uncle’s restaurant inside of the North Market in the late ’90s spurred Owner Mo Jallaq’s dreams of one day crafting his own eatery. In June 2020, Zaytoon Mediterranean Grill opened its first location in Hilliard at 5450 Westpointe Plaza Dr.
Zaytoon’s menu is focused on a build-your-own approach in the shape of pitas or rice, salad or hummus bowls. Each is piled with house-seasoned spit-roasted meats, like lamb and beef gyros and chicken shawarma, and topped with veggies and sauces. Classic Mediterranean appetizers like house-made falafel and hummus, as well as baba ghanoush, stuffed grape leaves and a small selection of salads round things out.
Zaytoon will make its debut at Budd Dairy on Tuesday, September 21.
It’s the second new vendor to join the food hall this month. Budd Dairy also recently announced it would turn the space initially occupied by Stauf’s into a rotating dessert pop-up spot dubbed Sugar. Up first is Mrs. Turbo’s Cookies, which celebrated its opening on Tuesday, September 14.
Budd Dairy Food Hall, 1086 N. Fourth St. in Italian Village, is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 – 11 p.m., Thursday from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 12 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
