Cafe Brioso Expanding to East Franklinton

When Glass Axis relocates to Franklinton this fall, they won’t be alone. The nonprofit will be bringing Cafe Brioso with them into their 12,500 square foot building at 610 West Town Street.

“With the funding from The Columbus Foundation, we are able to bring Cafe Brioso not only into our facility, but into that neighborhood, expanding our customer base from 10,000 visits per year to three or four times that,” says Eva Ball, Director of Strategic Development at Glass Axis. “We are excited to reach a larger audience, serve the community and our new neighborhood, as well as create a financially viable partnership with Brioso that will make our mission of learning and making even stronger.”

Brioso’s Franklinton location will provide fresh-roasted coffee, espresso drinks and food to artists and visitors at Glass Axis through a smaller shop that will compliment their Gay Street location as well as their new Long Street roasting facility expansion slated to open this Spring.

“Plans are still developing, but the concept will also be a social enterprise venture partnering with a nonprofit to serve a need in our community,” explains Jeff Davis, Roastmaster and President at Cafe Brioso. “We have been interested in East Franklinton for a while and felt like it was a great opportunity to work with a long standing and successful member of our cultural community in Glass Axis.”
