Columbus officials are increasing efforts to enforce the recent curfew law — and Mayor Michael Coleman said there shouldn’t be any teens in the city who don’t know about the new rules.
Starting on June 5, anyone under 18 years old caught outside after midnight — or earlier for those under the age of 12 — will be brought to the Long Street YMCA. The teens will be placed in one of the truancy classrooms until their parents are notified to come pick them up.
Mayor Coleman said he wants every parent and teenager in Columbus to know about the upcoming curfew.
