COhatch Partners with Polaris Fashion Place for Fifth Location

Mall meets coworking with the announcement of COhatch’s latest location. Launched in Worthington in 2016, COhatch has grown to five opened and announced locations with the addition of COhatch “The Pub” at Polaris Fashion Place, 1554 Polaris Pkwy.

The new 7,000 square foot COhatch location will occupy the space once inhabited by The Pub bar which closed in early 2018. COhatch is developing the location in partnership with Washington Prime Group, the parent company of Polaris Fashion Place.

“Our goal is to create experiences beyond shopping,” said Bruce Goldsberry, general manager of Polaris Fashion Place in a press release. “COhatch is adding an exciting new dimension to Polaris Fashion Place and helping us create and define the future of retail. Its members will be able to effortlessly work, meet and spend time together in the heart of Polaris Fashion Place while enjoying the center’s energy, foot traffic and many conveniences.”

COhatch “The Pub” will serve dual purposes – coworking space by day, entertainment venue and craft beer bar by night.

The coworking space will include private offices, dedicated desks, co-working spaces, meeting rooms and large conference rooms, as well as traditional amenities like free WiFi, mail services and access to COhatch’s other locations. “The Pub” will also feature indoor and outdoor event spaces, a full liquor license and bar with an area dedicated to local microbrewers.

Long-term plans indicate COhatch “The Pub” won’t be the business’ only presence in the mall. COhatch will expand its footprint with a variety of shared-space services including The Madery Makers and Market, a concept launched out of its COhatch Library location earlier this year. The Madery will offer social enterprises a physical, brick-and-mortar presence in an experiential retail setting.

“Polaris Fashion Place offers us an A+ lifestyle center to help our members grow their businesses, maximize their creativity in meetings and help them live their best life, while giving back to the community,” said COhatch Founder Matt Davis. “Our vision is to provide the spaces, locations, tools, and activities to create an ideal lifestyle for our members enabling us to build our amenities for members in the perfect fifth location.”

When COhatch “The Pub” launches this winter, it will be open seven days a week for its members and available to the public to host private events.

COhatch is simultaneously building out two additional locations – “The Newsstand” at the former Gazette Building in Delaware, and “The Overlook” situated at the Shops on Lane Avenue in Upper Arlington.

Slated to open this fall, the 9,400 square foot space in Delaware at 18 E. William St. will offer about 30 private offices, 20 dedicated desks and more than 50 flexible coworking spaces. COhatch is working with the city to retain the charm and artchitectural beauty of the original structure, while creating a modern space to foster innovation, collaboration and community in the heart of Delaware.

The 10,000 square foot former Swan Cleaners site at 1735 W. Lane Ave. will be the backdrop for The Overlook, offering a similar number of spaces and slate of amenities as COhatch’s other locations. It is scheduled to open this winter.

The under construction locations join COhatch’s existing coworking and community centers at 659 High St. and 752 High St. in Worthington. COhatch has continued plans for rapid expansion, aiming to open a dozen locations around Central Ohio in the next five years.
