For a few students at Ohio State, the old adage “there’s no such thing as a free lunch” has been proven false. This spring, students in a civic engagement course will attend weekly Wednesday lunch forums as part of a curriculum closely aligned with the Columbus Metropolitan Club.
Those in the class feel they’re getting immeasurable experience. “I think the programming itself is really valuable. They do a really good job on keying in on hot [issues],” said consumer affairs major Ruth Zimmerman. “I would do it every quarter, if they offered it, and not just for the free lunch.”
