Community Shares of Mid Ohio (COSMO) has announced that the group will include six new charities in 2014, which will be eligible to receive donations through the group’s payroll contributions program, which is funded by employees in over 25 different workplaces in the region.
“As the needs of the community change and funders narrow their focus, we felt it was important to step up to ensure organizations doing great work in the community can sustain and thrive,” said Teresa Trost, Executive Director of COSMO.
The six new charities include Career Transition Institute, Four Seasons City Farm, Get Behind the Badge, Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation, Patches of Light and The Short North Stage.
“With the addition of new members and their expertise to Community Shares of Mid-Ohio, we will be able to reach out and educate more people about the benefits of giving back through Community Shares,” explained John Moore, Community Shares Board President and CEO of Deaf Services Center. “We look forward to working together to increase support and visibility to the member charities of Community Shares.”
