    Construction Roundup: April 2020

    With construction deemed essential business by the Governor of Ohio’s “stay at home” order, work has continued at building sites throughout the city as the weather warms up this April. This month’s construction roundup showcases some of the ongoing projects in Downtown Columbus, The Short North, Italian Village, Grandview Heights and The University District.

    Work continues on the second phase of “The Sutton” located at First and High in The Short North — a building that will include 100 new apartment units.

    Work has begun on a new five-story building on West Fifth Avenue on the southern edge of The University District.
    Work is well underway on the first phase of Founders Park — a former 20-acre site mostly devoted parking for Battelle employees.

    Work is nearly completed on the reconstructed railroad bridge on West Third Avenue, which will contain pedestrian sidewalk access.
    New single family homes are under construction in Grandview Yard.

    Work continues on new apartment buildings at Grandview Yard.
    The old White Castle HQ has been demolished to make way for multiple new buildings that have replaced it in Downtown Columbus.
    Work is under way near Neil and Vine in the Arena District where several new buildings will house apartments and offices for Chipotle corporate.
    Construction continues on the new 8-story hotel on Park Street, adjacent to the North Market.
    Work is well under way on this mixed-use development near Long and Third, which includes both a historic renovation as well as a new build addition.

    A portion of Broad Street was closed over the weekend for some sort of mystery work — possibly related to the plaza redevelopment at the PNC building.
