Crimson Cup Expands into New 20,000 Square Foot Roasting Facility

Locally-based Crimson Cup Coffee officially opened their brand new 20,000 square foot roasting facility and distribution center today at 1925 Alum Creek Drive, just two miles south of their existing company location at 700 Alum Creek Drive. The expansion is allowing the business to double their production capacity, which has been driven by strong demand.

“This new facility enables us to scale operations by more efficiently storing, roasting, packaging and distributing specialty coffee and coffee shop supplies to our customers,” said Crimson Cup Founder and President Greg Ubert. “We’re excited by the expansion we’re seeing in all of our business segments.”

While locals may best know Crimson Cup from their single Clintonville cafe at 4541 North High Street, the business has actually grown into a business that roasts, packages and ships coffee to over 250 restaurants, grocery stores, colleges and other cafes in 28 states across the US. The company has plans to roast over 500,000 pounds of coffee in 2015, all by hand in small-batch equipment that processes anywhere from 25 pounds to 325 pounds at a time.
