CU Podcast #35: Coffee with Paul Bonneville – Part 1

In this week’s podcast we grab a coffee with Paul Bonneville, founder of Columbus RetroMetro. Paul shelved the RetroMetro website earlier this year, but has plans in the works for new projects debuting in 2010. In part one of our podcast, we discuss the evolving mindset of the “urban enthusiast”. Paul weighs in with his opinion on various developments in Columbus including the new Convention Center Hotel and the ODOT 70/71 Split Fix. We also spend some time talking about the proximate effect of concentrated development efforts, what it takes to create new energy in emerging neighborhoods, and how challenging it can be for city government to attempt to influence real estate markets in urban areas.
