A CASE OF THE MONDAYS: DAVID LYNCH
In May, the Drexel Theatre is proud to present five works from the American Master of Cinematic Surrealism, David Lynch.
Start the trip with Eraserhead, the experimental nightmare that became a midnight movie sensation in the 1970s. Next, take a peek beneath the cheery facade of suburbia with Blue Velvet, starring Kyle MacLachlan, Laura Dern and a scene-stealing Dennis Hopper. Venture out to hazy, dreamy Los Angeles with Naomi Watts in Mulholland Drive, the neo-noir masterpiece that was named best film of the decade by The Village Voice, Cahiers du Cinéma, and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. Dern then teams up with live wire Nicolas Cage in the romantic road trip odyssey that won the 1990 Cannes Palme d’Or, Wild At Heart, co-starring Willem Dafoe and the Oscar-nominated Diane Ladd. Finally, witness the tragic tale of Laura Palmer in the haunting and underrated Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.
