Columbus Oktoberfest
Schmidt’s annual Columbus Oktoberfest German celebration will return for its 57th
year at the Ohio Expo Center. This year’s event will feature traditional German music, dancing, food and
drinks. The festival will run Friday, Sept. 8 through Sunday, Sept.10.
“We are excited to share the German heritage of the Schmidt’s family with everyone in Central Ohio,”
said Carla Epler, COO of Schmidt’s and Columbus Oktoberfest executive director. “As one of Columbus’
longest running fall events, we look forward to kicking off the season with delicious food and drinks,
games and an unmatched feeling of community.”
This year’s Oktoberfest will feature three stages of German music and contemporary bands; a
“marktplatz” with more than 100 arts, crafts, and commercial vendors with local and international
products; stages for live music and polka dancing; and a wide variety of great food and beer options.
Additionally, the three giant halls that the event is hosted in resemble the beer halls of Germany and
provide more than 100,000 square feet of covered space, making the Columbus Oktoberfest one of the
“weatherproof” outdoor events in Columbus.
