    Pollinator Habitat Monitoring Program

Did you know most plants need pollinators like bees and butterflies to help them reproduce by moving pollen from one flower to another? Help us learn more about what is growing in our 34 pollinator habitats by joining our pollinator habitat monitoring program! You can help document plant and pollinator species in our habitats using the iNaturalist app and collect valuable data so we can continue helping these species thrive! Register for the one-hour in-person training session held on Thursday, May 25, at 6 p.m. at the prairie at Whetstone Park. Can’t make the training? You can register for the virtual training here.

Help us monitor the species in Columbus Recreation and Parks Department’s 34 pollinator habitats! We will be leading an in-person training session on how to document plant and pollinator species in our habitats using the mobile application, iNaturalist. Volunteers attending the training should come with their mobile device, have iNaturalist downloaded, and have an account created. Please wear closed-toed shoes and long pants. We also encourage volunteers to bring water and bug spray. The training will be held in Whetstone Park’s prairie. We hope to see you there!
