Volunteers Needed for Holiday Meals-on-Wheels Delivery
Volunteers Needed for Holiday Meals-on-Wheels Delivery
LifeCare Alliance, central Ohio’s Meals-on-Wheels provider is gearing up to deliver Meals-on-
Wheels to clients who include seniors and individuals with medical challenges and disabilities
individuals in the community over Memorial Day weekend.
Critical to LifeCare Alliance’s mission are the efforts of hundreds of volunteers who help pack,
prepare and deliver meals. While many volunteers have already signed up, the agency is still in need
of about 25 volunteers to cover hot routes between the three days of the holiday weekend, with the
greatest need on Saturday and Sunday.
Volunteers will meet between at LifeCare Alliance’s Meal Distribution Facility, 670 Harmon Ave. in
the morning, to pick up meals and receive delivery assignments. Most volunteers will have completed
their deliveries before Noon, leaving them time to enjoy the day with family – while still making the
holiday special for their central Ohio neighbors.
“We are so grateful, especially this time of year, for our volunteers,” says Chuck Gehring, LifeCare
Alliance President & CEO. “We find a lot of families volunteer together on holidays because kids are
out of school and extended families are together looking for meaningful ways to connect. It’s special
to see people of all ages coming into our facility anxious to give back to their communities.”
If you are unable to volunteer on the holiday, the Agency says there are several opportunities
throughout the summer, and all through the year, to volunteer.
