The work of Yotam Zohar is slightly out of the ordinary for a young artist: The figurative painter creates portraits.
His pieces are on view in the Gallerie les Beaux Arts in the King-Lincoln District.
To the 23-year-old senior at Ohio State University, painting portraits is not a whim.
“I think they are a portal to something much greater than just an image of a person,” he said. “You have a narrative going on, emotions. For me, . . . (a portrait) is an attempt to reveal other worlds through the plane of a painting.
