First Look: ’70s Meets Hoffa at New Dublin Bar Missing Jimmy’s

Patrons can now disappear for a while at new Dublin bar Missing Jimmy’s. The Jimmy Hoffa-themed experience at 55 S. High St. is a shot, beer, watch a game kind of place according to Owner Robert DelliQuadri.

As for the beer, expect mostly domestic classics on Missing Jimmy’s 15 taps – PBR, Miller High Life, Bud Light – plus a few craft selections, along with cans like Genesee Cream Ale and Hamm’s. A limited liquor selection and coming-soon wine slushies round things out in the drinks department.

DelliQuadri’s other business, Meatball Mafia, powers the kitchen. Missing Jimmy’s offers a streamlined selection of the Mafia’s lineup – meatball subs, sausage subs and meatball bowls, with personal pizzas added to the mix once they perfect the recipe in the new oven.

The retro, ’70s-meets-modern vibe comes courtesy of Flat Black Commercial Visuals, which designed the space. DelliQuadri says with the Hoffa theme in place, the team had fun nerding out on the bar’s visual touches. Six custom, epoxy tables tell the tale of Hoffa – three featuring the man himself in different stages of his saga: Jimmy the teamster, Jimmy the crooked and Jimmy the missing, with a cast of supporting tables that feature old-school ads, vintage Detroit and a nod to Youngstown, from where DelliQuadri hails.

More Youngstown love lines the walls, with a mix of memorabilia from DelliQuadri’s personal stash, and other Youngstown-related lore that customers have gifted them over the years.

Missing Jimmy’s is still finalizing its hours but plans to be open Thursday through Monday around various football schedules, and closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The bar will open at 5 p.m. today, Friday, September 9, 11 a.m. on Saturday, 12 p.m. on Sunday and 5 p.m. on Monday. Over time, DelliQuadri hopes they’ll ramp up to seven days a week.
