Pastry wonderland exists and it can be found on Olentangy River Road.
Tous les Jours has arrived in Columbus, taking up residence in the University City development at 2851 Olentangy River Rd.
It’s the first location in the state for the international French-Asian bakery chain. Founded in South Korea in 1997, the bakery made its way stateside in 2004 and has now grown to more than 70 locations nationwide. Until the Central Ohio spot celebrated its grand opening on New Year’s Eve, the next closest Tous les Jours fix was a six-hour road trip away in Chicago.
Options at Tous les Jours are more than abundant. Pastries run the gamut – sweet to savory, traditional French, traditional Asian and a fusion of the two.
There are macarons in more than a dozen flavors, delicately constructed layer cakes, scones and sweet and savory croissants and danishes. There are fruit-flavored soft breads, red bean bread, milk bread, soboros and a handful of donuts. Muffins, cookies, madeleines and roll cakes.
Guests grab tongs and a tray and do most of the selecting themselves, allowing plenty of time to weigh the many, many options.
Make it through the analysis paralysis of picking out baked goods, and a plethora of options also exists in the drinks department. Tous les Jours offers a number of coffee, espresso and tea drinks.
Tous les Jours has been off to a busy start, pulling in students from nearby OSU and sweets seekers from nearby neighborhoods.
The bakery’s hours are 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Sunday (closed Tuesdays).
Tous les Jours Columbus location is not yet on its website, but follow them on Instagram at @touslesjours_columbus.
