Galla Park Steak, 900 N. High St., will finally open its doors today, Wednesday, April 21, in the Short North.
Business must go on, says Adam Solomon of Peerless Management Group, which owns the restaurant along with Fireproof, BBR, Dahlia Nightclub and an additional Galla Park location in Cincinnati.
“We believe that people want a good, safe environment to come out and enjoy themselves and dine and that’s what we’re trying to give them,” Solomon says.
In the works before the pandemic, the concept was first announced in fall 2019 and slated for a March 2020 opening before hitting coronavirus-related delays.
The concept has shifted some since then to become Galla Park Steak, offering what Solomon describes as a modern steakhouse menu.
“Part of the idea of a modern steakhouse is to remove the stuffiness of a steakhouse and make it a little bit more fun and interactive, so the idea is that you come and you enjoy your full evening here,” he says.
A DJ will provide entertainment while guests dine on a menu that spans traditional steakhouse favorites – shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad, cuts like a filet, bone-in cowboy ribeye and more, along with a la cart sides such as asparagus, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and shoestring fries.
The menu also features a few signatures like Charbroiled Oysters and Moqueca, a traditional Brazilian dish with a seafood medley in coconut broth with red palm oil. Sushi bowls, pastas and a few other entrees round things out.
Solomon says to expect a lineup of fun, interactive cocktails, and the wine list will focus on Italian and French wines, along with some hard-to-find bottles. The restaurant will also offer wine verticals, six bottles in three vintages that guests can store and pour as they wish.
Galla Park Steak has seating for about 160 guests in its dining room, with another 40 at the bar and a small patio on the north side of the building.
Galla Park Steak will be open from 4 – 11 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, with the kitchen closing at 10 p.m., and 4 p.m. – 2:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday with the kitchen closing at 11 p.m.
