The Arena District officially has a new spot for imbibing. Goodwood Brewing has opened its doors at 401 N. Front St.
It’s the first Ohio location for the Louisville-based brewery which has grown to six spots across Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.
With Kentucky roots, guests will notice a little bit of southern flair in the menu – shrimp & grits, fried green tomatoes, blackened catfish and more – along with everything from grilled salads to traditional bar fare like pretzels, wings and burgers. Beer not only makes an appearance in pint glasses, but in plenty of menu items like their beer-infused wing sauces, including Walnut Brown Ale BBQ and Louisville Lager Glaze.
A dozen taps will be pouring all Goodwood, all the time. The brewery’s beers run the gamut, from ciders, to lagers, IPAs, brown ales and stouts. The Louisville Lager and Brewtus Blonde will be staples, along with a rotating selection of beers brewed in Kentucky and on-site. For now, Goodwood is bringing all its beer up from down south, but on-site brewery operations are expected to ramp up in the next few weeks.
With Goodwood’s arrival in the Arena District also comes the arrival of Goodwood’s beer on store shelves. The brewery is now distributing in-state and getting on some taps at other local restaurants. The company also plans to make good on the “and Spirits” part of its name and bring its bourbon to the Buckeye state as well.
Goodwood Brewing is open from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. Sunday to Thursday (kitchen closes at 9 p.m.) and 11 a.m. – 12 a.m. Friday at Saturday (kitchen closes at 10 p.m.) Weekend brunch runs from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and plans are in the works for a late-night menu with pizza and other specialties.
