    First Look: Lion Cub’s Cookies

Plan on cookies for breakfast this Friday, June 25 as Lion Cub’s Cookies opens the doors to its first brick-and-mortar at 1261 Grandview Ave.

For its first few weeks as a permanent storefront, cookie cravers will need to head straight to the source. While delivery has been the vehicle for Lion Cub’s massive, ooey-gooey cookies, Founder Brad Kaplan is eager to bring customers into their storefront for the first few weeks as they get their feet under them.

A special recipe creates the perfect, doughy cookie, meant to be eaten warm

In time a new website will launch where customers can pre-order online for in-store pick-up (with dedicated shelves to grab-and-go), or place an order for delivery. Lion Cub’s will resume its delivery system of a dedicated day to hit the suburbs every week, and add on-demand delivery for Columbus. For three months, Lion Cub’s will pilot its on-demand delivery program which makes giant cookies magically appear at a customer’s doorstep, just like a pizza might.

Customers will find a five-cookie lineup at Lion Cub’s, including staples Chocolate Chip and Cookies & Cream, along with one chocolate flavor and two features that will rotate weekly.

Have an idea for what that weekly special should be? Lion Cub’s shop includes an iPad where customers can submit flavor ideas, with winning creations earning a sneak-peek taste test and cookie catering party.

Initially, Lion Cub’s Cookies will be open from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. Sunday. Kaplan plans to add more days to the lineup, hoping to be open on Thursdays by late summer.
