As part of its development of a sustainable plan to strengthen its mission, Franklin Park Conservatory has proactively retained CAPA (Columbus Association of Performing Arts) to perform its business office operations effective this month. The Conservatory has contracted with CAPA to manage its financial services, payroll and IT functions. All other back of the house operations will remain at Franklin Park Conservatory. As part of this new business relationship, Franklin Park Conservatory will provide landscaping services for CAPA’s historic downtown theatres.

“Our new business model strives to proactively adjust to a challenging economy while ensuring that the Conservatory remains independent,” stated Bruce A. Harkey, Executive Director of Franklin Park Conservatory. “Partnering with CAPA creates significant cost efficiency and demonstrates an innovative, collaborative approach to non-profit management. Any positive results that we gain from this arrangement will keep our programs strong and better serve our visitors, members, donors and community.”

CAPA currently provides various back office services for Contemporary American Theatre Company (CATCO), The Phoenix Theatre for Children, and Opera Columbus.

“Collaboration between arts organizations strengthens our community as a whole,” said Bill Conner, CAPA President and CEO. “CAPA has nearly 40 years of experience presenting entertainment of all genres in Columbus, and we are honored to share our expertise with an organization as long-standing and well respected as Franklin Park Conservatory.”
