The Fuse Factory Electronic and Digital Arts Lab’s Flagship program, Frequency Fridays, is a monthly performance series featuring visual and sound artists, experimental musicians, instrument makers, and technologists whose experimental work with diverse media investigates the migration of computing out of the desktop PC and into the physical world.
The purpose of Frequency Fridays is to dramatically expand the public’s perception of what is possible in music and performance by presenting forms of creative, forward-thinking expression that are often relegated to academic or fringe environments. Frequency Fridays performances take place the first Friday of every month from October through June at the Wild Goose Creative, located at 2491 Summit St.
Their upcoming Frequency Fridays show on April 4 2014, features a diverse range of sound artists and with differing (yet complementary) approaches to experimental music and technology: experimental cello/circuits/percussion duo Vic Rawlings (MA) and Tim Feeney (AL), sound radio artist Anna Friz (Berlin), sound art duo Al Margolis and Tom Hamilton, and local free jazz guitar/percussion duo Brett Burleson and Ryan Jewell. Doors open 8pm; admission is $10 for one, $15 for two. The show is open to all ages.
