GCAC Presents: Spend the Night with First Night

On Saturday, December 31 join us and 15,000 of your closest friends for the largest New Year’s Eve celebration in Columbus. First Night Columbus offers families the opportunity to celebrate the New Year together. From adventures with Dora and Diego, to Club COSI, to performances from Enrique Infante, there’s a little bit for each member of the family to enjoy.

Begin your evening at Vets Memorial where there is a flurry of activity. Inside, kids (and adults) can race across North Hall in hamster balls, jump to exhaustion in the inflatables, craft your own personal crowns and hats, watch performances from kids’ groups, create delicious snacks and dominate in laser tag.

After laser tag, bundle up and walk across the road to COSI, where the youngest family members can take an adventure with Dora and Diego. While the little ones are getting their pictures taken with their favorite cartoon duo, teens can sneak upstairs to Club COSI. Inside Club COSI teens can cheer on their friends in First Night’s Got Talent as they compete for $500, showcase their own singing talents with karaoke or try their luck in the Game Truck.

Throughout the evening you may take the Fun Bus to any of three different venues to watch performances from local groups such as the Columbus Women’s Chorus, the Ladies of Longford or Enrique Infante.

Once the performers end their sets, the Game Truck closes up, the hamster ball races have finished and the inflatables have deflated, the entire family may make its way to the front of COSI. On COSI’s lawn we will ring in Columbus’ Bicentennial year with Mayor Michael Coleman, the winners of First Night’s Got Talent and the 2012 finale of fireworks.

For more information please visit www.firstnightcolumbus.com or First Night Columbus on Facebook. Admission buttons may be purchased at any Central Ohio Giant Eagle location, COSI or online.
