Owner Brian Swanson first announced the Downtown concept, formerly known as Tavernesque, in February 2015. Swanson additionally owns Bodega in the Short North.

The restaurant will be located at 260 South Forth Street, in one of Connect Realty’s Microliving sites. The two-building renovation project also houses the new Mikey’s Late Night Slice next door. Apartment renovations are still underway, though they’ve faced significant delays. Some of the walls located in the upper residential floors had to be replaced completely, which held up construction for an additional six months on the ground floor. The design put together in the conceptual review is coming together as planned.

“We’re getting good feedback — we’re just trying to make sure we keep moving forward,” said developer Brad DeHays.

Hadley’s will feature a front patio and “nano doors” — accordion-like folding glass doors, which were reviewed by the Downtown Commission yesterday. The menu will serve diner classics with a twist, alongside an extensive craft beer and cocktail menu.

Hadley’s was originally set to open in early December, and has moved back the slated opening to this spring.
