    There is a notion that the Blue Jackets’ franchise is unstable, and can be easily packaged for transport to Kansas City, Mo., or Hamilton, Ontario. This notion is not born of random patter.

    Take it all together — middling on-ice results, fan frustration, declining attendance, mounting losses, the owner’s death — and it’s not surprising there is a notion that the Jackets might move. What’s more, there are potential owners who are willing to pay handsomely to get their hands on the franchise.

    It might come to that someday. But today is not the day. Tomorrow isn’t either.
