Earlier this year, Kaufman Development purchased the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers building located on Second Avenue, just off High Street in Victorian Village. Today, we’re getting a first look at what they plan to do with both the building and its large parking lot that faces Price Avenue.
A development proposal unveiled this morning shows a plan that calls for the construction of a 10-story mixed-use property that would also preserve a portion of the existing two-story building located on the 1.5 acre site.
If approved in its current form, the project would add 155,000 square feet of for-sale condominiums, 30,700 square feet of office space, and 5,000 square feet of retail and commercial space. The building would also contain interior amenity space for building occupants, a pool terrace, and 28,000 square feet of rooftop garden space. Parking would accommodated on site in a garage with approximately 250 spaces.
“We’re going to the commission for conceptual review on August 11th,” explained Kaufman Development Founder Brett Kaufman. “After that we really haven’t established a timeline. We are prepared to start as soon as we get through the entitlement process. Construction will be completed in 12-18 months with the office and townhomes a little ahead of the condo product.”
