Lattes and Lollipops offers kids and parents a fun place to go

A new play space for kids and café for their care givers opened last month in Powell. Lattes and Lollipops offers a 2300 square foot indoor space that includes a play area for kids and a comfortable and cozy lounge area for adults. The spaces are separated by a wall with two large windows.

“After 10 long months of planning, we are so excited to finally be open and running,” says co-owner Nicole Myers. “It is such an amazing feeling to watch a parent enjoy a well-deserved break while their child is enjoying our play area at the same time.”

Myers and her sisters Jennifer Flanagan and Lisa Hogan all have small children of their own and wanted a space where parents could bring their kids and everyone would be entertained. Their mother, Elaine Nadalin got involved and they turned their idea for Lattes and Lollipops into a business.

“We love the community feeling of Powell,” says Myers. It’s also a location that is central to all four of them.

At Lattes and Lollipops, you will find a play area ideal for children ages 6 months until about age 7.

Myers shares more details: “It is focused on safe, imaginative and active play including a fire station, a kid’s cafĂ©, dress up costumes and a safe area for non-walkers. Our active play involves a large bounce house with 2 slides, a jungle gym, and soft gymnastics equipment.”

Most of the baby toys in the play area are organic and made with all natural materials. There is also art made by local artists on display in the café and is available for purchase.

You won’t find a daycare. While the play area has supervisors, parents or their care givers are ultimately responsible for their children.

While the children play, parents and care givers will be able to enjoy free wifi, Stauf’s coffee, local bakery items and homemade desserts. The sandwiches feature Boar’s Head meats and Beehive Bread Company’s breads. Imaginative sugar cookies by Sugarchic are also available. There are also snacks for children.

Lattes and Lollipops offers special events and you can rent their space for birthday parties. Current play area admission is $10 for the first child, then $5 for siblings. There is a 2 hour time limit. They do offer a Happy Hour deal Monday through Friday from 2pm to 3pm where pricing is $5 per child.
