Lineage Brewing Closing, Another Local Brewery Slated to Move In

As one brewery says goodbye to Clintonville, another will say hello. Lineage Brewing announced it will close its doors after seven years at 2971 N. High St., with Combustion Brewery & Taproom already lined up to take over the space.

“We are forever grateful for our amazing customers and fantastic staff who have been with us throughout our journey,” a post on Lineage’s social media channels read. “Words cannot describe the outpouring of love and generosity this community has shown our business and our employees and we thank you.”

Fans have a few days to score one last beer. The brewery’s final day in business will be Sunday, April 24.

“We made this difficult decision in order to focus on our families and other future endeavors,” the post continued.

The turnover will be short as Combustion hopes to be up and running in the space by summer. It will be the second location for the five-year-old Pickerington brewery which opened at 80 W. Church St. in 2017.

“We love our Pickerington community and have no intentions of leaving the Pickerington Village,” says Combustion Co-Owner Sarah Jackson.

Instead, Combustion will share its award-winning craft beers and ciders with Clintonville as well.

“We used to call Clintonville home, so there is a special connection to the community there for us,” Jackson says. “But also, it’s a great location! We are excited that our beers will be more accessible to Columbus residents. This location is in a highly walkable neighborhood, is close to the bike path, and is right on the bus line!”

    For its final days, Lineage will be open from 4 – 10 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday, 4 – 11 p.m. Friday, 2 – 11 p.m. Saturday and 2 – 8 p.m. Sunday.
