Lividly. Part 1 – A Colorful Exploration of Transcendent Queer Dance

Using humor to transform and transcend queer shame, Lividly. Part 1 is a vivid display of color on stage. Full of blues and purples to show the bruises, furies, and blueness of queer shame, the piece asks that if shame is performed, can those suffering from it be lifted away from it?

Lividly. Part 1 uses humor to transform and transcend queer shame with 4 performers. Part 2 will be at the Fisher Theatre in late July, 2022.  Both performances were developed with the support of the Greater Columbus Arts Council, Virtue Vegan Salon, and the Flux Flow community.

Four performers are collaborating for this show: FluxFlow Dance Project co-founders Russell Lepley (he, him) and Filippo Pelacchi (they, them), Counterfeit Madison creator Sharon Udoh (she/her) and collaborator Sam Johnson (they/them).

Flux + Flow, a dance, yoga, and movement studio opened in 2017 and then re-opened after the COVID-19 shut down on July 1, 2021. “We are very grateful to all our supporters that we survived to re-open and continue our work,” noted choreographer and co-owner of FLUX + FLOW in Clintonville, Russell Lepley-Pelacchi. They have produced several dance projects including their off (and on)-beat outdoor performance “Spatula” in April, 2021.
