Chris Dillman will compete in the Regional Top|Somm competition, to take place this Spring in Chicago. The Top|Somm competition is held by the Guild of Sommeliers, the educational arm of the Court of Master Sommeliers.
50 total sommeliers will compete regionally for a chance to go on to the national competition; 10-14 regional winners will compete on the national level. Chris will join seven sommeliers from around the Great Lakes for a chance to compete to win the Top|Somm title.
Chris will compete against one other Ohioan, Kyle Kennedy of Bootsy’s in Cincinnati. Other competitors who will compete in their region hail from such great restaurants as TRU in Chicago, Redd in Yountville, CA, The Inn at Little Washington in Washinton, VA, Jean-Georges in NYC, and Citronelle in Washington, DC.
Chris Dillman graduated from The Ohio State University in 2000, with a degree in Entomology. He went on to work at the Refectory, the Burgundy Room, and Rosendales. He currently works at Sage American Bistro in the Old North Columbus District. He also has an extensive educational website targeted to those who study wine seriously, TheVinoFiles.com.
Chris has won numerous awards for his wine lists, and he currently holds the Advanced degree in the Court of Master Sommeliers. He will sit for his Master certification this August in Dallas.
