Owners of Meisters, Zeno’s Team Up on Trabue Tavern Takeover

Trabue Tavern may have recently closed, but its replacement carries on some similar sports bar vibes.

The Quarry Co., which soft opened earlier in March, will have a grand opening this Friday, March 29. Owners Todd Meister, of Meisters’s Bar, and Mitch Allen, who is part of the Zeno’s team, acquired the space in mid-January.

The two had been talking about joining up on a bar for several years, and saw the old Trabue Tavern spot as a prime location.

“I don’t know if you’ve been out there lately, but it’s really up and coming with apartments up there,” Meister says. “They’re sinking a lot of money and resources into it. They’re putting a state park up there, a metro park. So we’re getting in on the ground floor with that neighborhood and are going to grow with it.”

The 3,000 square foot space is divided into two areas, one side home to a long bar, the other hosting dart boards, pool tables, and a stage. Meister describes the Quarry Co. as a neighborhood bar, offering eight big screen TVs for optimal sports consumption, along with trivia, karaoke and open mic nights.

While there’s a small kitchen, Quarry Co. will have the Explorers Club food truck supply the fare, as soon as their permit is secured.

The Quarry Co.’s grand opening party will start at 11 a.m. on Friday. The bar operates seven days each week from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. It’s located at 3582 Trabue Rd.
