It’s fairly easy in this city to find Asian food. There are literally dozens of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai restaurants throughout Columbus, each offering their country’s version of comfort or street food.
What we don’t really have is a place where Asian flavors meet. That is, until now. Mixing Bowl Asian Grill is a brand new food truck focused on serving fresh, healthy food from Korea, Japan and Vietnam.
It starts with the ingredients, which are sourced both locally and from Asia. These ingredients are transformed daily into rice, noodle, or salad bowls, burritos, and tacos. Customers choose their base, then add their choice of protein, hot and cold toppings, sauce, and crunch.
Guests choose between chicken, spicy pork, steak, and tofu for their protein. Topping options include seasoned black beans, sautéed bean sprouts, vegan kimchi, corn salsa, and egg. Sauces come in 4 varieties: mixing bowl sriracha (house made), yum-yum, teriyaki, and ginger soy vinaigrette.
Meals at Mixing Bowl Asian Grill will only cost diners seven to eight dollars, and there are several vegetarian and vegan friendly items. Jacob Rapp, owner of Mixing Bowl Asian Grill, is committed to offering scratch-made, daily-prepped fare that’s flavorful, affordable, and a little out-the-box.
“Mixing Bowl Asian Grill’s focus is quality, balance of flavor, and healthy food for an every day lifestyle,” shares Rapp. “We serve our customers in a quick, streamlined process so they can enjoy their time and food. ”
Mixing Bowl Asian Grill’s official launch date will be in the first week of June. They will be at different locations throughout Columbus primarily for lunch, but are also available for corporate events, concerts, parties, weddings, or any other special occasion.
