Mobile Mommies Provides On-Site Childcare at Special Events

Janel Williams was eager to attend conferences and events around town, but was worried about finding a sitter for her two young sons on the Autism spectrum while she was away. Williams came up with an innovative solution and started Mobile Mommies.

Mobile Mommies provides convenient, on-site childcare at events like conferences and wedding receptions. Sitters are equipped to watch infants to 12-year-olds, including those with special needs. North and her sitters bring toys, games, movies and other age-appropriate activities to keep young ones entertained while parents attend events.

mobile-mommies-02Services are booked hourly and cover the entire length of an event, up to 12 hours. For groups of 5 – 12, fees are $10/hour times the number of children times the number of hours. For larger events with 15+ young ones, additional entertainment options like balloon artists and face painters are available.

Parents can be sure that their children are in safe hands. All sitters must be over the age of 21, complete a comprehensive background check, as well as first-aid and CPR certifications.

Taking advantage of this unique service can yield more attendees at events. Williams is seeing Mobile Mommies come to the rescue at a variety of events across Ohio. They have helped out at non-profit conferences, events and workshops and wedding receptions. Services are based in the Columbus area, but the Mobile Mommies will travel to other locations in Ohio for a small fee.
