Mrs. Turbo’s Cookies Heads to Powell for Second Location

After debuting in Gahanna just two years ago, Mrs. Turbo’s Cookies is ready for a second location. The retro-themed cookie shop is headed for Powell, and it’ll celebrate a grand opening in December.

Those familiar with the Gahanna location can expect the same experience at the new spot, which sits at 178 Olentangy St. Although slightly smaller at 1,100 square feet, Mrs. Turbo’s Powell will support the on-site production of cookies in gluten and gluten-free varieties, a 10-seat cookie bar, and additional seating for five or six people.

“The cookie bar concept has been very popular,” says owner Holly Schaffner. “People love that they can come in and belly up to the bar and have cookies and milk or cookies and coffee.”

Extending their partnership to Powell, Mrs. Turbo’s will offer Crimson Cup coffee and espresso drinks, including frozen beverages.

The aesthetic will be virtually the same as well, “even down to the Coke coolers.” Mrs. Turbo’s will maintain its 50s feel with black, white and other bold colors, along with chrome seating and fixtures.

Schaffner says that the Powell community was a natural fit for a second location of Mrs. Turbo’s.

“There’s no one out there like us that does what we do,” she says. “We make all natural [cookies], everything is made on-site from scratch. It just kind of seemed to fit our branding, and our philosophy for baking fits into Powell.”

Schaffner’s cookies have been available in central Ohio for about five years, first appearing at retail market events like Grandview Hop and Moonlight Market on Gay Street. Her selection now includes cookies, cakes (in regular and mini sizes), brownies, and whoopie pies.

Barring complications, Mrs. Turbo’s Powell location will have a grand opening on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
