Representatives from the Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) officially unveiled their design concept for the new Dublin Branch that will replace the existing building located at 75 N. High St. in Historic Dublin.
The new three story structure will double the size of the existing location, clocking in at a total of 41,000 square feet of space, with a separate four-story parking garage located behind the building that will house 200 parking space for library visitors. The library site is located directly across the street from new development at Bridge Park West, and not far from the new Dublin Riverside Park that is slated to open sometime in 2018.
“Dublin has bold plans for its Bridge Park neighborhood and Columbus Metropolitan Library is eager to be a part of that vision,” stated CML CEO Patrick Losinski. “This new 21st century library reflects both the forward-thinking progress being made in the city and the increasing demands of its residents.”
CML is in the midst of rebuilding 10 of its locations, which has already seen the completion of the following branches: Driving Park, Whitehall, Parsons, The Main Library, Northern Lights and Shepard. Additionally, construction or planning is under way on the following branches: Northside, Martin Luther King and Hilliard. All ten projects are slated to be completed by 2020.
