New Jobs, New Space: Central Insurance Relocating to Bridge Park

Central Insurance has been around for 147 years as a property and casualty carrier. Almost a century and a half after its founding, the organization is still growing. This ongoing ballooning has highlighted the need for a new home, and Dublin residents could reap the rewards.

The company will move its Central Ohio Technology Office to a new 48,322 square-foot space, which opens in Bridge Park this winter. Having been rooted within Dublin since 2015, the transition comes from the fact company leaders wanted to meet the needs of both current and future employees.

“Central Insurance wanted their employees to choose where the expansion would be located, and their employees chose Bridge Park for the lively neighborhood and walkability to restaurants and shops,” said Matt Star, EVP of commercial real estate and leasing at Crawford Hoying, which owns and develops Bridge Park.

Central Insurance CEO Evan Purmort agreed the new location will be ideal.

“The Bridge Park area in Dublin provides a more functional, upgraded space with state-of-the-art amenities that expand our ability to innovate and deliver on the exceptional hospitality Central Insurance is known for,” he said.

Those amenities include state-of-the-art meeting technology, more collaborative workspaces to meet the needs of their expanding team, along with increased access to local restaurants and other features due to the natural walkability of the Bridge Park location.

The company’s headquarters remains in Van Wert, Ohio, which has served as the cultural epicenter of the organization since its 1876 beginning. As for the technology office, Dublin residents will enjoy the benefits through additional employment opportunities.

“We have and are continuously building our own technology infrastructure from the ground up, something the insurance industry usually outsources,” Purmort said. “To do that, we are always looking to recruit top tech talent in Central Ohio and the region.”

Central Insurance plans to add approximately 60 new positions to the current team of 79 in Dublin by the end of 2026.

The new office space is located at 6620 Mooney St., taking up an entire block. Construction is currently underway. Employees, both current and yet-to-be-hired, will enjoy being surrounded by both condos and retail stores.

Central Insurance will also be a record-holder once they move in.

“Central Insurance will be the largest office-space user at Bridge Park, and we look forward to its employees adding to the vibrancy of the community,” said Bob Hoying, principal at Crawford Hoying.
