Tax day is quickly approaching, do you still need to file your taxes? With the City of Columbus, you can file your taxes quickly and easily online, using the new system Columbus Revenue Information Service Portal (CRISP).
“Filing taxes with the government shouldn’t be any more difficult than it needs to be,” said Columbus City Auditor Megan Kilgore. “It has been my central focus to modernize the Office of the City Auditor and after successful launches of a new payroll system and an upgraded financial management system, this is just the latest in a series of modernization efforts for the City of Columbus.”
Income tax funds the majority of the City’s General Fund annually. By using the new CRISP web portal, tax filers will be able to archive and access prior year returns. Anyone with questions can use the interactive chat-bot named OTUS which has been designed to walk you through the filing process. You can also speak to an Income Tax representative by calling (614) 645-7370, Monday to Friday, 9am – 4pm.
By using the CRISP system, you can receive your refund faster. Existing customers received a mailer with their access code. New users can file by setting up a new account.
The new system gives Columbus the technologically-advanced savvy that people expect.
“We want small businesses to do business in Columbus and large corporations to come here and stay here,” Kilgore said in a statement. “As the City continues to grow and evolve, this is a system that can grow and evolve with us.”
File your 2022 Columbus City Income Tax Return online by Tuesday April 18th using crisp.columbus.gov.
