Last week, a motion was filed to halt petition-gathering for the proposal to allow the construction of four casinos in Ohio, claiming that petitioners are lying and tricking voters into signing. A video has been posted online that catches two petition-gatherers in the act. In response, a county judge ordered that petition collectors have to tell the truth when gathering signatures. Unhappy with that, the proponents of the casino issue are now asking that the restraining order preventing them from lying to voters be lifted. That’s right. They are asking a judge to give them back the ability to trick people into signing their petitions.
