Columbus Crew and Atlanta United split the points on Saturday night after a highly entertaining and rain-soaked game that ended 2-2 at Lower.com Field.
Yet another weather delay held up the kick-off for over an hour as more pesky thunderstorms moved through the city, but once the game did get going, it was mostly Atlanta running things, and at 20 minutes they took the lead from a wicked strike by Santiago Sosa that left Eloy Room motionless in the Crew net.
The Crew hit back midway into the second half as Cucho continued his impressive start to life in Columbus with a double strike five minutes apart to turn the tide and put the home side into the lead.
Atlanta would spoil the evening towards the end of the game when a flicked header from Juan Jose Purata found it’s way into the net off of an Edwin Mosquera corner.
Next up for Columbus comes the next installment of ‘Hell is Real’ with a trip down I-71 to Cincinnati before returning home on the final day of the month to welcome Miami.
