See art. C-note. Buy art. That’s the theme of an innovative art show tonight in Grandview Heights, where each of the 500 works by 150 artists will sell for one price — $100.

Columbus artist and sale organizer Ashley Voss borrowed the idea for the C-Note Art Show from California: The San Diego Art Institute is generally credited with having the nation’s first so-called price-point show almost two decades ago.

It helps the artists, who get exposure to a crowd in a gallerylike setting without the 30 percent to 50 percent commission charged by most commercial galleries. Items for sale include paintings, sculptures, photographs and pop-art pieces. All proceeds, Voss said, will go to the artists.
