From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can drop off their out of date or unused prescription drugs at participating locations. Participants can find the closest drop-off locations to them by entering their zip code here.

SWACO, along with other local partners, team up every April and October to participate in the national prescription drug take back day led by the DEA. Additionally, SWACO works with local communities to provide 11 permanent drug collection sites available year-round.

The initiative gives residents of Franklin County a safe, convenient and effective way to properly dispose of prescription medications. The event also highlights how the proper disposal of medications can help deter misuse or accidental ingestion by children, adults and pets, while also protecting the environment and local waterways.

For more information about the types of medication accepted, visit swaco.org.
