CBUS Soul gives the perspective of Black life experiences in and around Columbus through culture, history and events. By bringing influencers and businesses together, Experience Columbus helps promote local African-American culture in the city that residents and visitors can enjoy.

“Supporting Black culture and business is a significant part of our mission,” said Dan Williams, Chief Sales Officer at Experience Columbus. “We are putting the focus on the Black experience in Columbus every month of every year because it is an integral part of experiencing our city.”

Providing two-day itineraries featuring Black-owned businesses, shops and events in the city, CBUS Soul highlights experiences in four categories: the arts and entertainment, food and music, community and business, and people and history.

As they amplify diverse voices, Experience Columbus hopes CBUS Soul will increase local tourism and revenue.

The organization has also launched CBUS Soul merchandise, which dropped in collaboration with the Columbus Fashion Alliance. Every purchase from the first CBUS Soul x YOU line will support the CBUS Soul movement.

“We are proud of the breadth and depth of the Black experience in Columbus, and we encourage and welcome visitors and residents alike to take part in seeing, supporting and enjoying the activities, businesses and events that make our city such a diverse and forward-thinking place,” said Sarah Townes, Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer at Experience Columbus.

The CBUS Soul initiative also includes videos showcasing Black community members, a list of things to do, featured business spotlights, and weekly itineraries for people to support.
