    Shop Talk: The Swanky Abode

Keeping up with the Joneses has never been more fun.

The Joneses to whom I’m referring are the owners of The Swanky Abode, a home decor shop at 4230 The Strand at Easton Town Center. Walk inside the 7,000-square-foot store and you’ll find find unique, eclectic merchandise −hand-selected by Laura and her three children, Jerrod, Israel and Addison− at every turn.

“We wanted to promote our lifestyle and share our special finds,” said Jerrod. “We love good design and mixing vintage with new items, and we felt it would be a challenging, but rewarding experience to share that with the public.”

Black walnut harvest tables, Danish modern wall hangings, lucite lamps, and organic bar soaps are just some of The Swanky Abode’s offerings.

“There’s an eclectic mix to suit all tastes, from collectors of unique vintage items to mid-century furniture buffs to artists and kids,” Jerrod said. “We’re proud that people of all ages enjoy our stores.”

The Swanky Abode is the Joneses’ fourth Columbus store, and has been described as a combination of their now-defunct shops Shine at Polaris Fashion Place and Nest at Easton. (Glad Tidings, a holiday pop-up shop, was housed in The Swanky Abode’s current space.)

“We all travel a lot and have been lucky to explore all over the country,” Jerrod said. “Estate sales, auctions, great personal connections, you name it. We’ve traveled to the west coast and back for merchandise. In addition, we’ve come across many talented local artists and crafters here in Columbus, and have featured numerous individuals’ works in the store, including jewelry items.”
