If the city of Columbus is the heart of Ohio, then High Street can be considered the life line that brings all of it together, and right at the end is a tiny antique shop called Traders Haven. Founded three years ago by Anthony Dunning, Traders Haven showcases various different pieces of furniture and decor for the extravagant, and simple, alike.
Many of the pieces on display in the store range from a forty dollar dresser to a ten thousand dollar chinese antique dating back hundreds of years, to an extravagant floor to ceiling faux Chihuly chandelier created for a client. After spending almost seven years in New York, he has an eye for design and travels all over the United States for the pieces that he displays, and if Dunning doesn’t have the item in store, he can find it for you.
Dunning expects all of his customers to achieve the attainable goal of finding the perfect furniture for their home, something he views as one of life’s biggest investments.
He doesn’t want people to believe that good furniture is out of reach, when in reality it is attainable to everyone, whether they are a new homeowner or a mother buying a dresser for their child going away to college.
“Thats my biggest motto,” explains Dunning. “You don’t need a palace to get the royal feeling, and to feel good about your space”.
